Calm Journey

The key to any successful therapy is to build a trusting relationship between a therapist and a client. I am here to listen and to help you explore your thoughts and feelings, which can sometimes feel confusing and overwhelming. I offer a secure, non- judgemental, professional and confidential environment where we work together to try and make sense of how you are feeling.

Thank you for contacting Maria Carelse at MCL Counselling. I hold a BA in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Level 5 Diploma in Life Couching. I am a Registered and Accredited member of the Accredited Counsellors, Coaches, Psychotherapists and Hypnotherapists (ACCPH) and follow the BACP Ethical framework, with regular supervision to ensure that I am practicing safely and ethically.

I help adults, children and adolescents with a variety of challenges, including: anxiety and social anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, OCD and autism, various degrees of trauma, burnout, relationship and family difficulties, loss and grief, life decisions and minority experience. I am an integrative counsellor meaning that I use different approaches to meet the client's needs, such as CBT, Psychodynamic and Person-Centred approach, combined with Mindful Meditation to generally reduce stress and boost mood and resilience when facing adversity.

I am a bilingual psychotherapist counsellor in Spanish with a Level 4 in Positive Psychology under the European legislation. I also hold a current DBS Certificate. I hope that in building a relationship together, we will work to explore your feelings and ultimately to enable you to take responsibility for yourself and your choices. Working with adults, children and adolescents is something that I am passionate about and I endeavour to put this across in my work with you.
